Rod Tube Kit w/ Liner
(RTL) -
Assembly Instructions
If You Have The RTK (NO TUBE LINER)

The actual assembly of the rod tube kits is quite simple....

The kit Does Not Include Tubing. PVC or ABS tubing is available almost everywhere.

1.       Cut your tubing one inch longer than the longest section of your fly rod.

2.       Trim Tube Liner approximately 4 inches longer than your cut tubing.

3.       Slide Tube Liner into the tube with the sewn seam toward the inside of tube.

4.       Center liner in the tube with 2 inches of Tube Liner extending out both top & bottom.

5.       Pull the edges of Tube Liner back over both ends of tube and pull toward the outside center of the tubing (as if you were pulling on a stocking) until straight & tight.

6.       Using thin - 2" wide packing tape, tape both ends of Tube Liner to outside of tube. This will help keep the liner from moving when you put the Cordura Sleeve over it.

7.       Slip the Cordura Sleeve on over the PVC starting with the zippered end. It may be tight with the liner attached but it will fit.

8.       Pull the top of the Cordura Sleeve until the zipper is just barely above the end of the tubing.

9.       Put the foam insert inside the zippered cap, foam end towards the tubing and zip.

10.       Cut bottom of Cordura Sleeve about 1” longer than the and tuck excess inside tube.

11.    Before gluing, place Rubber Bottom Cap on bottom of tube to insure that everything fits correctly.

12.     If all is okay, remove Rubber Bottom Cap, apply PVC Pipe Cement or similar glue on inside sides of rubber cap and replace on tube and let dry before putting rod into tube!
